It stopped working less than a year after purchase. Upon contacting their horrible customer service we were told that they have changed the service and that we were the proud owners of a large paperweight. Their customer service had us send back the unit and they sent us a gift card for 20% of the value of the item - no replacement - no refund - no caring in my opinion. Originally wanted a weather station with barometer, etc and then I found this item. Thought it would be cool to place on the fridge and check out the weather in the morning. The device needs to pick up a signal and therefore must be near a window and it might not be the side of the house you might like and it definitely wasn't working on my fridge. I found an acceptable location and it typically had 3 bars of signal (like a cell phone indicator). Information updated regularly until one day I noticed it was still the same temp outside and was waaaaay off. Replaced batteries but this did not correct the issue. It was indicating that there is no signal. I called Ambient who is the contact from the manual for troubleshooting and they said to drive 5 miles in any direction with the device (for my specific location) and I will be in range of another tower. Living in San Diego with perfect weather, I can't imagine why I wanted one of these forecasters. Sadly I have to say that it is not as accurate as I had hoped for. We have had a perfectly sunny day today and the forecaster has displayed a "cloudy" symbol all day! |
