My goal was to get one metal plate cold, with the heat drained off the other side by a similar metal plate. The device worked great, but I now need to adjust my prototype based on what I learned, and maybe this info can help you. Note that power goes into this device in order to differentially cool and heat each side of this device. Volts times amps to see how many watts has to create heat somewhere. This extra power effectively heats BOTH sides of the device, so even though one side is cooler that the other, both sides actually get warm unless you use a really good heat sink on the hotter side. Also, it's important to make a really good thermal connection to the face of this device to conduct the cold/hot to whatever you're cooling, and to the heat sink. So, two conclusions.
