This is only ON/OFF, which is appropriate for Appliances and Fluorescent Lighting. It supports 'beaming', unlike some older z-wave devices, which is a must to interface with z-wave locks. However, as another reviewer noted, this is NOT a dimmer - it's designed for fluorescent lights, motors, appliances and other loads that will be either on or off and won't be dimmed. The device reports itself as a "Z-Wave Switch Binary", not "Z-Wave Switch Multilevel" or "Z-Wave Dimmer Switch" as it would if it was a dimmer.
